Google Wallet Rumoured to Hit the UK in Time for Olympics

Mobile and Online, Google Wallet has already landed in the United States but according to the French Newspaper “Les Echos” the latest in the line of Google releases is due to touch down in the UK in time for the Olympic games.
The Google Wallet system is an online and mobile payments system application which can be used to pay for online goods and services but also allows payment within participating retail outlets.
The online system operates similar to the existing Google Checkout system which allows payment of goods with a single click on the Google Checkout Button.
Google Wallet stores all your credit and debit card information on the system for use online and on your mobile device. The mobile device application is a NFC Payment System (Near Field Communication) and allows payments for goods to made by holding a NFC enabled mobile device in front of a receiver. NFC enabled mobile phones are available from Blackberry, Nokia and Samsung in the UK so support this technology is growing all the time. It is also rumoured that Apple’s iPhone 5 will be a NFC enabled handset.
